Review by Maddie Joseph of Justin Bieber's most recent album Believe Acoustic.
Justin Bieber released this album January 29th as a midnight premiere. In this new album, Justin recorded eight of the songs acoustically, and he wrote three new songs! Recreating his old songs in a more touching way allows the fans to really connect with him in a different way than before. One of the most personal songs he wrote is his new song Nothing like Us written for SelenaGomez, due to their most recent break-up. Many teens and adults as well were super touched and moved by the emotion in the song. With an angelic voice, amazing guitar and outstanding piano, it puts the album on a whole new level. It’s definitely one of his high points of artistry, and has turned a lot more people into fans! "I love it, it’s just perfect, I can’t describe it it’s so good!” eighth grader Larissa Salazar says about the album. “It’s my life and I listen to it 24/7," Parker Gray says. The songs you can find on this album are: Boyfriend (Acoustic Version) As Long As You Love Me (Acoustic Version) Beauty and a Beat (Acoustic Version) She Don’t Like the Lights (Acoustic Version) Take You (Acoustic Version) Be Alright (Acoustic Version) All Around the World (Acoustic Version) Fall (Live Acoustic Version) Yellow Raincoat I Would Nothing Like Us (Bonus Track)
Pitch Perfect
By Meghan Coen
Pitch Perfect, rated PG 13, was shown in theaters on October 5, 2012. This movie is about Beca (played by Anna Kendrick) who arrives to a new college not being able to fit into any group but one; her schools all-girl singing group. The Bellas are a mix of all types of girls: mean girls, nice girls, and just plain weird girls who all have one goal, to win the Capella Competition. As Beca volunteers at a local radio station she meets a guy, Jessie (played by Skylark Astin), but the problem is that he is part of the Treble Makers, the Bella’s biggest competition. The movie continues as the Bellas try to reach their goal.
At HMS, Pitch Perfect was one of the most popular movies in recent times. Students had various reactions after they watched the movie. According to 7th grader Morgan Johnson, “This movie was hilarious and had me watching the whole time. It was definitely worth it." Isabelle Roy 8th grader, thinks, “Pitch Perfect was interesting and funny. I would recommend this movie to everyone.” “I would watch this movie again and again,” Caroline Corkery says.
This movie has the perfect mix of comedy and drama. “Pitch Perfect” is an outrageously hilarious laugh-out-loud comedy that also stars Anna Camp (The Help), Brittany Snow (Hairspray), and Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids). This movie is definitely a "must watch film".
